Lithology Pattern:
Sandy claystone

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Conformable with the Sanjauli Fm / Chhaossa Fm.

Upper contact

Conformable with the Blaini Fm, and unconformable with the Subathu Fm.

Regional extent

Can be correlated with Jaunsar Gr. The Nathuakhan Fm (Uttarakhand) is also equivalent of the Simla/Jaunsar sequences. The Benighat Slates in Nepal (Dhital 2014) and the Puntsholing and Pangsari formations in Bhutan (Tangri 1995a; Bhargava 1995b) are equivalents of the Simla/ Jaunsar Gr. (Bhargava et al., 2021. Evolution of the Lesser Himalaya in space and time. Himalayan Geology, Vol. 42 (2), 2021, pp. 263-289)
